News 2024
20th / 21st September

Yesterday Cinnamon, Saffron’s sister, also kidded quads but unfortunately we lost one boy so we have 2 females, Scarlet and Cleo, and 1 male Billie Bob.
Billie Bob is quite small so we have decided to bottle feed him but we are having to milk Cinnamon every couple of days as she produces too much milk for two kids.
Cassia, who is a half sister to Cinnamon and Saffron, kidded twin does on 21st – Corinne and Cara who are thriving.  These kids are all sired by Ivydale Brynn.

Today Saffron did it again!!  She seems to have quads every time she kids and this time she produced 2 males and 2 females sired by Ivydale Brynn.
We will have to offer the bucklings for sale but will probably keep one of the does to continue on with.  We have pulled the two boys off and they are being bottle fed and doing well.

Today Ivydale Bethany kidded two healthy twins – Benny and Bridget – sired by Ivydale Solomon. All doing well.
We will be offering Benny for sale and expect that he will be a good producer of udders as both Bethany and her mother, First Fleet Betty, have excellent milk capacity.

The first show of the year for the DGSA was held at Allora today.
What a lovely day we had with Stoney Creek Botanica (87.5%) being awarded Champion Nigerian Dwarf Doe, Grand Champion Doe, Senior Champion All Breeds Doe, and then Supreme Exhibit of the Show!!

Our two youngsters, Ivydale Bettina and Ivydale Brynn also did us proud. Bettina was 1st ND Doe Kid under 12 months, Champion ND Doe Kid and Champion All Breeds Doe Kid.  Brynn was 1st place ND Buck under 12 months, Champion ND Buck, Champion All Breeds Buck and Grand Champion Buck.

Together Brynn and Bettina were placed 1st in Sire’s Progeny and Dam’s Progeny Classes.  They are sired by First Fleet Moondance and out of First Fleet Betty.  All in all a lovely day with some excellent results.
